Build. Grow. Thrive.

Join a diverse social club to collaborate with like-minded people interested in promoting and engaging in permaculture practices and sustainable design models and technology.  This opportunity includes a large farmstead for cooperative gardening, workshops, personal research, seminars, and retreat on fertile Palouse soil in a valley with a high water table and sub-irrigation. It couldn't be a better use for this amazing piece of property.

The mission of the club is to collaborate, explore, discuss and develop sustainabile skills, self-sufficiency, alternative energies, renewable resources, alternative transportation, and create diversified opportunities for existing and future residents of Eastern Washington, specifically the Palouse region, while enjoying the outdoors on the countryside doing something good for the future.

Joining the club offers exclusive access to Schierman Sanctuary, a nearly forty-acre fourth generation family farmstead with ample herb/vegetable/grain/fruit production space, large multipurpose farm buildings, large ponds, lawn camping, amphitheater and comfortable gathering areas. The property is located outside of St. John, WA.

The property is being offered to the club as a permaculture training ground, a research and development lab, a space for design classes and workshops, seminars, home grown/local food & beverage production/preservation/fermenting workshops and ongoing labs (think beer and wine or cheese making). It may also be used for private club or private member-hosted events, weddings, reunions, garden dinners, club concerts, and as a base camp for exploring the beautiful surrounding area.

Since the club is newly forming, all the paper and planning is in the air. Get in early, get your voice heard louder. Make critical founding decisions with less people. Below is what the original founders have been planning and are now anxious for your input. Remember this isn't set in stone, and things will likely change to some degree as spring gets nearer.

The goal is to get 50 members to pledge by March and pay dues by April. The maximum number of members may be as few as 100 members depending on the votes of the current members.
Please send lightly detailed description of yourself, desired membership option if any, and appropriate knowledge or skills you have. An application can be sent through email or filled out below.
